I’m passionate about helping people work together toward a bigger purpose. Over the years, I’ve had the chance to lead in the charity, business, and public sectors — always drawn to work that helps people build better lives in sustainable ways. I’ve learned that leadership isn’t about having all the answers; it’s about setting a clear vision, living out your values, supporting people with what they need, and helping teams do their best work.

I currently serve as the President & CEO of Opportunity International Canada, where I have been for 5 years. Before stepping into non-profit leadership, I spent several years as a Canadian Trade Commissioner, including a posting in South Korea. That international experience really shaped how I see the connection between business, trade, and development — and it continues to influence my approach to leadership and impact today.

I hold a Bachelor of Science in Electronic Engineering and a Master of Science in Engineering from the University of Waterloo. But most of what I know about leadership has come from the people I’ve had the privilege to work alongside — and from being on the journey myself, learning and growing along the way.

Outside of work, I live in Ontario with my wife, Brenda, who’s an artist. We have three adult kids, a daughter- and son-in-law, and a granddaughter who keeps us smiling. When I’m not working, you’ll probably find me outdoors — hiking, paddling, biking, or on a walk with our with our beagle, Finnegan. In recent years, I’ve been section-hiking the Pacific Crest Trail, combining my love of the outdoors with my passion for making a difference.
